One thing the bible does not say is “If you follow Jesus, your life will be easy”. That is nowhere in the bible. One thing it does say is

Luke 14:27-28

“27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”

This means it will absolutely cost you. I’ll give you a spoiler, I’ve already decided it’s worth it for me.

So maybe you believe in Jesus, maybe you don’t, (if you are skeptical about his existence, that’s another lesson) but for tonight let’s say you believe He is real and we are going to work through some things that will help you decide if it is worth it to follow Jesus. You don’t have to decide tonight and if you want to have a 1 on 1 conversation about this with any of your leaders, hit us up. But I will tell you, the decision IS urgent.

*Break up into groups and get a white board or large piece of paper. Write for/against or pros/cons and start writing the for or against for being a Christian.*

Examples: Eternal life, never being alone, unconditional love vs persecution, not being the boss of your own life etc.

*Take the time to let this start a conversation. Come back together for the last few minutes.*

If any of you want to make the decision to follow Jesus in light of tonight, first of all, tell Jesus. But then come and talk to Ezra, Karyn or myself.
