Karyn’s Discussion: Attitude

What makes you mad?

What excites you?

Has anyone ever upset you, and you had a bad attitude the rest of the day or toward others?

When things don’t go how you want, what do you do?

A lot of times we let circumstance determine our attitude. What do you think that means?

Philippians 2:14-15 New International Version (NIV)

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[a] Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky

Mistakes happen. Accidents happen. Life happens. Things don’t always go our way. How you respond to hard times says a lot about your character. The attitude you walk around with has a huge influence on how people react to you. Do you want people to leave your presence feeling encouraged? Refreshed? Stronger? Smarter? Do you want others to treat you with patience, kindness, and respect?

Sometimes, when things are rough, we blame others. Sometimes it really is someone else’s fault, but you don’t have much control over others. You do have control over your attitude. Don’t let others steal your joy, and don’t rob others of theirs.

Your attitude is your choice.
