Discussion: Faith in What?

Some AI company employees have so much faith in AI to find a cure for cancer that they confidently started smoking. Some satire is pretty similar to reality. Another news article

Why does it matter what/who you put your faith in?

What seems unwise about their decision to start smoking, even if there was a cure for cancer?

Would having the cure for sin influence you choose to sin even more?

“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” –Romans 6:1-2 (NIV84)

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
‭‭-Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)
