Ezra’s Talk: The Mystery of Godliness

Have you ever thought about the Bible’s main message, the one Christians have shared for centuries, that they refer to as the gospel? The word gospel itself means good news. It is good news because when it seemed like all hope was lost, a hero (Jesus) came through and made a way for us to be saved from calamity. But the way He did it might seem confusing, it really is a mystery to understand it. When we can’t totally understand something, we believe something without it, which we call faith.

“Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.” – 1 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
