6/30/20 Ezra’s Discussion: Encouragement

Hi everyone, who likes to be encouraged?

What has an act of encouragement done for you? And how have your relationships changed by a word of encouragement you have received from a friend or another person? How do you think about those who have encouraged you?

I am gonna read a passage that was written to encourage other people who believe in Jesus and have committed to following Him.

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
-Hebrews 10:19-25 (NIV)

Encourage others where you notice gifts and God’s hand moving in their life. Consider writing an encouragement or several encouragements down to share with someone or multiple people tonight. This May come more naturally to some of you than others, but it is a great practice for all of us. Please don’t over think it, a small encouragement is better than silence in many cases. Send a text message to someone here (if you have their number), if you don’t, you can just say it to them from six or more feet away. If you receive an encouragement and want to share it, that is cool too.
