8/20 Ezra’s Discussion: Love

What makes you feel loved?

How can you show love to others?

How did Jesus show love to others? To you?

What makes it hard for you to show love to someone?

Key thought: To give and show love to others.

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” -Mark 12:29-31 (NIV)

Jesus explained that the two greatest commandments require love from us to God and love to others.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.” -1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NIV)
