8/21 Talk by Ezra

Live a life worth following, like Jesus did.

Be kind to those that others won’t show kindness to

“But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?””

-Luke 5:30 NIV

Show love to all, even if they don’t love you

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, “

-Luke 6:27 NIV

Be concerned for the needs of others

“Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.””

-Matthew 14:16 NIV

Be a blessing to those around you

“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”

-Matthew 14:14 NIV

Be wise with your time

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.””

-Mark 6:31 NIV

Be wise with your relationships

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.”

-John 15:15-16 NIV

Know God as well as possible

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

-Luke 5:16 NIV

Trust God when life doesn’t make sense

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
-Luke 22:42 NIV

We were all greeted with a special meal this evening, and were thankful to those who prepared and served the teens so generously and graciously.
