Talk: by Ezra “Acknowledged”

Have you noticed the credits at the end of movies or TV shows? Have you ever been excited to see someone’s name there that you know?

How about the name of an artist featured in another artist’s music album or track? Why do you think they put “feat” in the song title?

Do you have a belief in God? Do you trust God with your decisions or your future plans? Do you trust God with your relationships? How is your relationship with God? Do you confess things to God when you make bad decisions? What do you say to others about your faith?

“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.”

-Luke 12:8 (NIV)

Have you ever publicly acknowledged God?

How was your experience with that?

Maybe you have confessed to God that you are a sinner and need His forgiveness, and choose to follow Him from now on, knowing He has forgiven you and loves you no matter what. You know that He loves each of us even before we ever acknowledged Him, but you have not acknowledged your decision in front of any other people publicly. If you want to take that step and say, I have decided to follow Jesus, you should ask us about being baptized in the near future. We can talk with you about what that means and plan an event where each of us can share our story and tell about what God means to us.

Break into smaller groups with leaders:

Ask if anyone has a story about their experience sharing with others about their relationship with or belief in God.

Ask if anyone would like to know more about baptism.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
